About the Galva Arts Council...
Who Are We?

Our membership is made up of citizens who care about and enjoy the arts. We have members from all over the country from students in grade school to senior citizens. We have artists and non-artists as members. Many of our members are people who care and want arts programs available in our town.

Some activities of the Galva Arts Council:

Coffeehouse: on the second Saturday of the months of January, February, March, April, July (during the 4th celebration), September, October, and November. Open mike, amateur and professional entertainers (singing, instrumental, poetry, storytelling, theatrical scenes, comedy). Free, with donations accepted to cover costs of site, and refreshments). Coffee, cookies. Various board members are in charge each month.

Drama Activities with local talent.

The Photo Show: 8 x 10 photos are submitted and professionally judged. Prizes, ribbons. Photos will be showcased during the July 4th weekend at Community State Bank. Open to all.

Artists Residencies in the Schools each year.

Scholarship: Awarded each year to a graduating senior to be used in further his/her arts education.

Art classes for adults and children

Fund-raisers of various kinds.

Newsletter, published 4-6 times a year and mailed to members.
